Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Arrive at Entebbe International airport, meet and greet assistance. You will be warmly welcomed by Luxland Africa Vacations representative outside customs and Immigration hall then you will be transferred to your hotel. Tour briefing will be done at the hotel lobby over a welcome drink.

Day 2: Entebbe – Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National park (2 hours fly)
This is the nearest and easiest way to access Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Wake up early in the morning ready for the transfer to Entebbe International airport for your flight to Bwindi in either Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip depending on sector of tracking. The aircraft departs at 0700 hours arriving Bwindi at 0815 hours in the morning. You can also choose to depart at 1030 hours in the morning arriving Kisoro/Kihihi airstrip at 1145 hours in the morning. You will arrive in Kisoro to be welcomed by our expert guide and head for a community tour that includes a visit to a coffee farm. At the coffee farm, you will have the opportunity to learn about the sustainable farming practices in the Virunga massif and is a great way to promote social change through ecotourism. After the tour, we will transfer for lunch at a marvelous lodge with panoramic views of the Bwindi Forest. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 600. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together.Take the afternoon to tour the community,we will visit the health centre,school,an orphange centre and end our tour in the Batwa community settlement centre.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters for a morning briefing from the rangers at 8.00 am before you enter the gorilla sanctuary. Throughout the trek, you will be accompanied by experienced guides and trackers who will offer insightful information about the endangered mountain gorillas. Once you have found the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour observing them from a 10-meter distance. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngster’s frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.

Day 4: Gorilla Habituation Experience
Early morning transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before you enter into the gorilla sanctuary of Bwindi Forest. The rainforest is spectacular as it offers a dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access for tourists. The Gorilla habituation experience follows one of the families that are in the process of being accustomed to tourist visits. You will be a maximum of 4 tourists that will spend up to 4 hours with the magical gorillas. You will be accompanied by a team of rangers and researchers who are in the process of ensuring that the gorilla family is made relatively used to tourist visits both for their safety as well as to reduce their shyness.

Day 5: Second Gorilla Trek
We return to the forest to track another family of the wonderful mountain gorillas. This time we will visit the Nyakagezi Family in Mgahinga National Park; this particular family has 3 Silverbacks living together harmoniously which is rare amongst gorillas.

Day 6: Golden Monkeys Tracking
We will drive to Mgahinga National Park again for a chance to track the golden monkeys sometimes referred to as a distinctive race of the more widespread blue monkey Endemic to the Albertine Rift, the golden monkey is characterized as a bright orange-gold body, cheeks and tail, contrasting with its black limbs, crown and tail end. The group is very much used to our presence now, allowing us to have an insight into their daily lives. The monkeys dictate how the day is going to be, and no day is ever the same in the forest. After the trek, we will visit a Batwa community settlement on our way back to the lodge.

Day 7: Flight to Kasese
After an early breakfast transfer to Kisoro airstrip for a flight to Kasese airstrip we will have a guide pick you up and transfer you to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon After lunch we will take a walk to the Bigodi wetland which shelters over 200 species of birds including Hornbills, Turacos, Parrots, Cranes, Kingfishers and many more swamp endemics. The sanctuary is the home of 8 species of primates, including the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkey and the Blue Monkey.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Habituation in Kibale National Park
Today’s excursion begins after a briefing at Kanyanchu trailhead; you will spend the half day with Chimpanzees following them around. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning. A half day search for chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora.

Day 9: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Have a late breakfast and start our drive to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola. In the afternoon, take a nature walk on the sanctuary with chances of spotting Ugandan Cob, Bushbuck, Oribi, Duiker, Warthogs, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Vervet monkeys, and black and white Colobus monkeys and if you’re very lucky you might catch a glimpse of a Leopard, Aardvark, Genet cat or Porcupine.

Day 10: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Jinja
Early mornings start our rhino tracking experience; you will have a wonderful experience tracking the southern white rhinos. Proceed through Luwero and Kayunga towns and check in at the lodge on the banks of the Nile. Enjoy the sunset as you rest and prepare for dinner at the lodge.

Day 11: Full Day White water Rafting
After breakfast, we will go for white water rafting on the Nile.The activity takes you rowing through the turbulent sections and rapids of the river Nile in Jinja. The rapids in Jinja are graded 4 and 5 hence offering some of the best white water rafting experiences in the continent. Rafting also gives you time to relax, mingle with other rafters, spot birds, enjoy the nature, watch local fishermen working and women washing clothes along the river banks.

Day 12: The Source of the River Nile and Transfer to Entebbe Airport
A late breakfast and check out of the lodge and head for your ATV Safari.The trip will be tailored to suit your interests and it will take you through farmlands, forests and small villages. You will follow the Nile downstream from Bujagali and then away from the river bank, through the community. After the ATV Safari, you will check out a few sites in Jinja including the monument of Gandhi, Source of the Nile view point. Later depart to start your journey back to Kampala. Take some time to visit local artists for some souvenir shopping. Your guide will drop you off at the airport in time for your evening departure flight.
