Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Helicopter Transfer to Akagera National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by your private driver-guide. After a short briefing, you will transfer to the Akagera Aviation heliport for your scenic helicopter flight to Akagera National Park.
The helicopter, either an Agusta 109, Agusta 139, or Robinson R44, seats between 3 and 6 passengers and provides panoramic windows for unobstructed views. The flight lasts about 30–35 minutes, offering spectacular aerial vistas of Rwanda’s rolling hills, lakes, and savannahs.
Upon landing at the Akagera airstrip, you will be met by a lodge representative and transferred to Magashi Camp or a similar luxury lodge. The afternoon is free to relax, enjoy the lodge’s amenities, or take in the views of the savannah and surrounding hills. Dinner is served at the lodge.

Day 2: Morning and Evening Game Drives with Lake Ihema Boat Cruise
After an early breakfast, set out on a morning game drive to catch the early activity of predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas, as well as herbivores like elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and zebras. The park is home to over 75 species of mammals and more than 300 species of birds, making it a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Return to the lodge for brunch before heading to Lake Ihema for a scenic boat cruise in the afternoon. The lake is a haven for hippos and crocodiles, and its shores attract elephants, buffalo, and numerous antelope species. Birdwatchers will delight in spotting species like the shoebill stork, fish eagles, and pelicans. The calm waters and beautiful landscapes provide endless photographic opportunities.
After the cruise, enjoy a late afternoon game drive or relax at the lodge as the sun sets over the savannah. Dinner is served back at the lodge.

Upon landing in Kigali, your guide will transfer you to a fine restaurant for lunch or take you on a short city tour depending on your flight schedule. Finally, you will be escorted to Kigali International Airport for your departure, concluding your luxurious and time-efficient helicopter safari.
